Peanuts Gang 24K Gold Plated and Colorized 5-Piece Quarters Coin Set commemorating Charles Schulz' iconic comic strip. It first appeared in newspapers published in Illinois, The Chicago Tribune and Washington DC, The Washington Post. The 24k Gold Plated Illinois Statehood Quarter is colorized with a footloose and fancy-free Snoopy with the design of Charlie Brown's shirt in the background. The 24K Gold Plated Washington DC Territory Quarter is used to display portraits of the main characters of Charlie Brown, Snoopy, Linus and Lucy. These coins have a colorized image on each side. On one side is the full color image and on the other side is the black and white image of each character. Each coin is encapsulated in an acrylic holder to protect the coins from fingerprints. The collection includes the pictured display box and a full color, two-sided Certificate of Authenticity.
